So, you’ve mastered the basics closet.

Your clothes consist of the basic colors that can easily be mixed and matched, everything goes together.

Black, white, gray, navy and perhaps you’re feeling crazy, khaki.

However, your closet may be efficient, I have a sense you’re bored with it.

I mean why else would you read an article called ‘Why You Should Add More Color To Your Wardrobe’. I don’t blame you. Humans are gifted with the ability to see thousands of colors, only some birds and other animals can see more colors then us.

We are gifted with a rainbow to choose from, however, it can be scary. Clashing colors, attention and maintenance are all real (and valid) concerns someone has before they see the color light.

Colors don’t always play nice, did you know that it’s practically a fashion sin to wear black and navy at the same time? If someone is unfamiliar with the color wheel, this can be scary. However, trust your eye. If it looks good to you, then it’s probably fine. While I personally wouldn’t mix orange and green together, why not? If you like it, then rock it!

The attention someone gets when they wear color can range from a second glance to perhaps a comment by a stranger. Usually something along the lines of “Wow” or “Cool (blank)”. I wouldn’t really worry about this too much. If you still are unsure, read my article about how you shouldn’t care about what people think of how you dress.

So maintenance of colored clothes is the hardest part, I still haven’t really figured it out. The basic tips I can offer is wash them inside out in cold water with special soap. See http://www.wikihow.com/Wash-Your-Clothes

Do not let these fear factors hold you back. Colors are the way the world expresses it’s self. When you dress in monochrome, sure you look polished but so freaking boring.

Spice up your wardrobe with color.
